74 Days In...

74 Days ago, I made a New Years "Revolution". I embarked on a trip to Thriftland and have since never faltered, although I've been wanting some new summer dresses recently.

Positives of only buying used clothing items:
-I have found heaps of new thrift stores (which I'll talk about later)
-I have saved a lot money
-I have been able to buy more items for less
-Some thrift stores have kitchen/apartment supplies I've needed as well
-You get different kinds of clothing

Negatives of only buying used clothing items:
-Since the clothing has already been worn, there may be a run-down look to some items
-Most of the time you have to wash what you've bought before wearing it and that can be a hassle

Many thrift stores I've found in San Francisco and have been to or want to go to:

Crossroads Trading Co.
"Crossroads is a new and recycled fashion retailer that has been serving its fashionable and environmentally conscious customers since 1991."
2123 Market St.

Community Thrift
"Community Thrift relies entirely upon donations to stock its shelves." Every first Monday of the month is 1/2 off everything in the store. Prepare for a shopping extravaganza, but also long lines.
623 Valencia St.

Thrift Town
"Sells used and vintage clothing, household items and collectibles."
2101 Mission St.

Wasteland
My ultimate, favorite thrift store. "Over the past two decades, Wasteland has become known as an important trend-setter and style outlet." Watch the musical artist, Lykke Li, talk about and shop in the SF Wasteland here on Current_.
1660 Haight St.

Out of the Closet
Supporting HIV/AIDS programs. Interesting buys.
100 Church St.

And there's always Goodwill.
