Interview with a Pretty Cool Cat

A friend of mine asked me to sit in and take pictures of an interview with Jason Reitman, the director of Juno, Thank You For Smoking, and the new masterpiece, Up in the Air, staring George Clooney, a while back. Becoming giddy like a thirteen year old girl seeing Twilight for the first time, I completely obliged.

When Reitman first walked in, he was wearing courderoy pants, a slouchy sweatshirt, and an old, beat up beenie. Everyone else and I were surprised and completely didn't recognize him at first, but soon realized it was him when we all froze and stopped talking. The whole interview was interesting, all 21 minutes and 10 seconds of it. I found it fascinating that Jason Reitman said he liked to work with characters who aren't usually liked by the majority of the public, and likes to give a personality to people who are mostly disliked. As he put it "I've made three films. The first one's about a head lobbyist for a major tobacco firm, the second one's about a pregnant teenage girl, and the third one's about a guy who fires people for a living...I enjoy humanizing tricky characters."

My picture was featured in the article online and can be viewed on the web page, as well.

See the blog post and listen to the interview here.
